China’s financial industry has leaped forward with financial opening-up in the free trade zones, RMB’s inclusion in SDR basket, “Belt and Road” initiative, Silk Road Fund, Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank, etc. At the same time, marketization of interest rates, improvement of financial market, and easier market access for private capitals have laid a solid foundation for deepening China’s financial reforms. In this context, Jinan is confronted with opportunities and challenges during its development as a financial center. The session will discuss the trend of global financial industry and what opportunities challenges that Jinan Province need to deal with.
